Flying Fox

Pulsate your adventure with the budget-conscious free camp of Flying Fox, a beautiful setting in the Kimberley where you are taken back to nature, 30 kilometres, 45 minutes away from Kununurra and acting as the gateway to the hiking trails, cabbage palm forests, and cascading waterfalls found in the Hidden Valley National Park. Flying Fox Camp is also a great base for day trips of exploring the Bungle Bungles, the Ord River Dam, or Lake Argyle.

Limited amenities of no showers, electricity, or internet welcomes you to unplug and relax. However, drop toilets and fireplaces offer the comforts that welcome you. Just remember to come prepared with your tent or campervan, food and water, plus insect repellent. With limited facilities, watch the nature and see what your luck is with spotting friendly wildlife where wallabies, kookaburras, and flying foxes are known for making a star evening appearance.

Getting here involves an unsealed gravel road turn-off that goes for a few kilometres. A 4WD is preferred, check into your closest visitor information center to confirm road conditions if you are driving 2WD.
