Joffre Gorge

Take the steps to ancient rock pools that stand as a crown of the area. Joffre Gorge is your spot to escape the heat, read a book, discover the wet or dry waterfall, and if lucky swim. This is a must stop spot especially if you are staying at the Karajini Eco Retreat.

Your trek is a moderately challenging 2 kilometres return journey from the start of the trail, if starting at the eco retreat, add an extra 700 meters each way. As you venture your way down, you will be greeted with ladders making an easy controlled approach to the water hole.

As you reach the first pool, take a swim and explore both sides with one being the waterfall point with eroded colouring displaying the flow of water into the gorge. On the the other side, venture further and take a plunge into picture perfect swimming.

Important Considerations

Wear sturdy shoes with good grip, bring plenty of water, and pack sun protection for the hike.

Check the whether as rain makes this area extremely slippery.
