The third spectacle that you just have to take in is Z Bend Lookout. Start off with the easy 1.2-kilometer return walk to a lookout point with breathtaking views. Gaze down 150 meters of sheer cliffs to where the Murchison River winds its way through the landscape, dotted with hardy river gum trees. Then take on the challenging 2.6-kilometer hike that takes about 2.5 hours to complete and involves loose rocks, steep descents, and even some ladder climbs.

Note, the inland river gorges are much hotter than the town, with temperatures reaching greater than 10 degrees Celsius. It is essential to plan accordingly—bring 4 liters of water at the minimum and light-colored, breathable clothing.
