How the grim crowned Australia’s best beach in 2022. Located in the Torndirrup National park, dating back to the dark days of whaling, Misery Beach was known for blood red stained waters, a truly ‘miserable’ sight. These days, practices have stopped a long time ago, the water has cleaned up, and what has been left behind is just a name reflecting on history.

The crystal-clear waters of Misery Beach beckon travelers for a refreshing swim, snorkel, and surf. A visit here goes beyond the water with curious kangaroos hoping along the shore, dolphins swimming, and whales moving in the distance (in season). Nearby, make sure to visit The Gap and Natural Bridge, a dramatic natural formation, a 20 meter drop off the cliff protected by a safe boardwalk with poles drilled 15 meters deep into rock.

Misery Beach, reflecting on the past and showing our growing relationship with nature. Today, this beach is a haven for relaxation, adventure, and wildlife encounters. With your swimsuit, sunscreen, and a sense of adventure, come experience the magic of Misery Beach. You might just understand why it was voted Australia's best in 2022!
