Onkaparinga Bush Walks

Lace up your boots, we are off on a journey. Onkaparinga River National Park is known for its clifftops, hidden rock pools teeming with life, and rugged ridges overlooking the gorge. As you traverse, you'll stumble upon remnants of the past. Discover heritage-listed huts and ruins of houses built in the 1880s. These historical markers add a unique layer to your exploration, offering a glimpse into the area's human story. While hiking, expect to share paths with kangaroos as koalas and birds watch from the branches.

There is a hiking path for everyone here. Challenge yourself with the 6 kilometer Punchbowl Link Trail through native bushland with a view of the gorge. Enjoy the views on the 4 kilometer Sandews Ridge Loop with Instagram worthy photo spots. For a short but history filled walk, the 2.5 kilometer one-way Old Coach Link Trail takes you past remnants of the past and agricultural heritage.

Unlike more well-known parks, the truly underrated Onkaparinga River National Park is likely to offer you your own slice of serenity. Make the most of it while you can by hiking amidst the natural beauty, breathe in the fresh air, and soak in the tranquility of this hidden gem.
