For a heart-pounding dry experience, head to Crocosaurus Cove in the center of Darwin. Here, you can observe a massive collection of Australian reptiles in a captive environment. Crocosaurus Cove is famous for its "Cage of Death" experience. Hang in the air, attracting attention, and when all eyes are on you, submerge into the water in a secure glass chamber that gets you into their primal habitat, face-to-face with these prehistoric giants for 30 minutes.
Following your activities with crocodiles, you may be interested in getting up close to them in the wild. Don’t. When exploring crocodile habitats while engaging in other activities, stay alert on 'Crocwise'. If fishing or walking along rivers and beaches, maintain vigilance at all times as these animals are ambush predators. Freshwater crocodiles are regularly found in the Katherine and Victoria Rivers; they tend to be smaller and pose less risk to humans. However, caution is still advised, as saltwater crocodiles can venture into freshwater environments. Gregory National Park is a known habitat for these apex predators.
