This hidden gem offers you a delightful encounter with Australian wildlife at the Greenough Wildlife and Bird Park. Twenty kilometers from Geraldton, be greeted by a symphony of chirps, squawks, and chattering. Over 200 native Australian animals call this park home. Come face-to-face with Australia's national animal (well technically there are two, the kangaroo and emu, celebrated for their inability to walk backwards, symbolising a nation that constantly tries to step forward through all hardships). Look up and be dazzled by the vibrant plumage of parrots, lorikeets, and pelicans or search the ground for scaly reptiles like snakes and lizards.
With a strong ethical focus, go beyond just seeing the animals and be entertained, create a love and respect by attending interactive exhibits and informative shows. Get behind the scenes and understand the behaviours, habitats, and threats faced by these incredible creatures. Daily feeding sessions allow you to observe these animals in action and learn about their unique dietary needs. Imagine the thrill and Instagram thrill of hand-feeding a kangaroo or wallaby! You might even have the chance to cuddle a koala. These special experiences are sure to create lasting memories. In the reptile area, learn how to stay safe in the world of snakes, lizards, and crocodiles. For lunch, you can bring your own food. Check Greenough Wildlife Park for daily crocodile feeding times. Open 6 days a week, closed Wednesday. 9 am to 4 pm.
